Photography Lessons
With a basic understanding of our camera we can take great photos. Photography is as much about knowing how to take control of our camera as it is about working with our environment, and doesn’t need to be overly complicated.
I enjoy keeping my lessons informal and focusing on the areas you wish to improve on. Creating practical tasks and experimenting allows us to put theory in practice and gain experience of what works best for the shots you want to take.
Whether this be the fact you always shoot on the ‘Auto’ settings (sports, macro etc) or you understand manual settings but want to get more creativity into your photography, I can help through a range of tasks and discussions.
Looking to take your photography to the next level? I am more than happy to discuss how I turned pro, the ways I promote myself, the ups and downs of being a professional and how you could do the same. Photography is an amazing career to have, but a bit of guidance in the early days can go a long way!
Run a group that would like to have a group lesson? I am available to come to you and discuss photography to a group of people. These workshops can be run like my normal workshops or they can focus on more specific areas of photography, such as photographing flowers if you are a Horticultural group.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss having a lesson or coming to a workshop please do get in touch via the ‘Contact’ page.

One-to-one Lessons
One-to-one lessons are a brilliant way to work on your specific needs so you can better understand your camera and get the shots you want. Whether you require help photographing your daughter jumping, taking family photos, or simply understanding the settings on your camera, I can assist you to improve your skills.
During a lesson we can:
Use my ‘Understanding Photography’ booklet to improve your camera knowledge, discussing everything from ISO, rules of thirds and manual settings.
Go through photographs you have taken so I can give them a constructive critique on how to improve them.
Set up a series of tasks so you can experiment and gain experience, focusing on your chosen areas or types of photography.
Set up tasks on your own laptop or computer in programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom so you can learn, experiment and practice editing photographs.
Chat about cameras, lenses, memory cards and the other essential equipment you may need to progress with your photography.

“I really enjoyed my one to one lesson with Craig on the beautiful Ashdown Forest. Craig was informative, structured the session to my interests and the areas where I need most help and was very patient. Looking forward to our next lesson! Thank you Craig!”
